The impact of pornography on children and young people.
Gemma was part of the parliamentary APPG on Pornography Regulation in March 2023. This showed that the average age of exposure to pornography in the UK is currently 7 years old. This impacts their behavioural regulation development, their social development and has huge implications for the normalising of male violence against women and girls.
Responding to VAWG as serial and escalating offences.
Men who murder women and girls always have a history of VAWG. Offenses such as pedocriminality, sexual offences, domestic abuse and stalking are always multiple victim offending. So when violence against women and girls is not taken seriously by our justice system, the state is condoning and enabling their future crimes.
